taste of tuscany – round 1
this has been a long time coming, but we finally did it. since steve and i have been back from italy (almost a year ago now) we’ve wanted to make a true tuscan meal for our friends. tonight was our first crack at it. this is what we came up with…

Steve prepping the vinaigrette

Ian making the white wine sauce

Our guests chillin’ eating some antipasto

Insalata – Arugula with Raspberry Vinaigrette

Primi Piatti – Frito Misto with Basil Aioli (we kind of drowned it in the aioli… oops)

In between courses

Secondo Corso – Fegatini Bianco con Cozze

Chowing down on the fegatini (danny ate all three mussels…. super impressed!)

Entrade – Pollo Roulades con Sage with Red Wine Reduction (ok, so steve was trigger happy and took this without the red wine reduction)

This one has the red wine reduction, but the plating was terrible…

Steve with his Tiramisu (made it all himself… with a little help from my sis)

Dessert – Tiramisu
everything above was home made. i think we hit up 7 stores to find it all, and prepped for something like 5 hours. we were cooking on the fly to make sure everything was fresh. gotta say thanks to my mom for helping out so much. all in all, the night was a HIT. and the food was fabulous! turned out way better than i could ever expect. thanks for everyone who came out. don’t worry, i’m sure we will be doing it all over again soon….

Impressive to say the least!!! I didn't know two single guys could cook so well. You put me to shame. The bacon wrapped chicken with wine sauce was outstanding and the tiramisu was delectable and delicious! Thanks guys for all the effort you put in to make the dinner such a good event. It was very much appreciated.
So… Langer… how's about that Tiramisu for my birthday?
