HELP-PORTRAIT VANCOUVER
Help-Portrait Vancouver is very close to my heart. I believe being able to give back in this capacity not only impacts the guests we serve but also impacts us as photographers, makeup artists, hair stylists, musicians and volunteers. Each year a lot of hard work goes into making our events a huge success. The phrase “A picture is worth” does not fully resound until you witness the big smiles, tears of joy and thank-yous during one of our event. Help-Portrait Vancouver is a Vancouver event within the worldwide Help-Portrait movement. We hold our events at Union Gospel Mission (Vancouver Downtown Eastside) and BC Children’s Hospital every holiday season; welcoming and serving the people who walk though our doors. None of the photographers or volunteers involved are paid or make money from these photographs. None of the pictures taken will be used in personal or commercial websites, or portfolios. In fact, the images taking of our subjects are discarded the day of the event. We have been blessed to partner with organizations like Nehemiah Arts Foundation, Union Gospel Mission, BC Children’s Hospital, and Artisan Church.
